- Spankie, the idea is that we're little better than Pavlov's dogs. If we associate our beds only with sleep, when we reach them we'll want to sleep--not watch TV, read, make a phone call, etc. If it helps some people, that's cool, but I don't have such a big house that I can blow off a whole room and use it only for sleep.
- It can help because then your only focused on sleeping in your bed instead of doing anything else...
- its all mental
- According to the Mt Sinai Medical Center Sleep Study Treatment Program the bed should be used for 2 things only: Sleep & Intimacy. They even suggest taking your TV out of your bedroom. If the only thing you associate with your bed is sleep & intimacy, instead of TV, work, computer, talking on phone, etc.; in your mind it makes the bed a place of too much stimulation...a contradiction to sleeping. Sweet Dreams=)
