Bed Simple

Is there any way to make a bed level when it sits on a sloping floor?

Recently moved into a NYC apartment with a very sloped floor. it's quite small and the current location of my bed is the only feasible part of the apartment in which I can place my bed. I like the apartment and I'm delighted with the price and location, but I cannot stand sleeping on an not-level bed. I wake up all the time, the sheet keeping getting pulled in one direction; it is very uncomfortable and I am tired all the time. I have tried propping it up with cardboard but that never lasts for more than a night and was never such a good solution to begin with. My back and neck are getting sore too and as for spending the night with my girlfriend in my place? Forget about it.

  1. just raise up the lowest part of the bed. or you could attempt to make the floor level with like a big board and books and shims- good luck
  2. Cut the legs of the bed on the high side of the bed if it has legs if not make holes in the floor where the bed is high.
  3. If I answer this question with the answer it should receive. Well. Good luck.
  4. You do NOT want to go cutting the legs on your bed or putting holes in your floors. The answer is to make individual leg pedestals out of a 4x4 or 6x6 post. Starting with the highest corner of the bed, use a line level and a ruler to measure the difference in height at each of the four corners of your bed. Add 4 inches to each measurement to get the final height for each pedestal. Use a hole saw attachment on a drill to make a hole in the top of each pedestal large enough for the bed post to sit in. Make sure you drill each hole to the same depth. You could stain/paint the pedestals to make them match the bed or other furniture in the room and even put a felt pad on the bottom of each to prevent scratches to your floors. If your bed frame has a center support, you'll need to make a pedestal for that too.
