Why does my bedroom door latch shut during the daytime but will not latch shut at night?

My bedroom door refuses to latch shut at night, however as soon as it's daytime it latches with no problem! This just started happening a couple days ago. Why is this and is there a way to fix it?

1. Temperature and humidity is causing your door to expand and contract. That together with normal wear and tear is probably the cause. Check the screws that hold your door hinges and some adjustments might fix your problem.
2. If you can move your door latch strike plate a bit that would probably fix the problem for daytime and nightime. If it won't move, you can file the opening a bit to make it a bit taller.
