Why do people even buy pet beds espicially expensive ones?

All of my pets (2 cats, 1 dog and 3 rats) all like old clothes or cloth. Cats and dogs like boxes with old clothes or pants in it a lot even if its to small for them. So why do people buy pet beds?

2. My dogs usually just sleep on my bed, but I have dog beds and crates around the house if they want to sleep in them. In a pinch, a towel on the floor will do, but my dogs do not consider bare floor to be an adequate sleeping surface.

4. In our old place we had hardwood floors and I especially had a dog bed in the living room so they could be comfortable. It was horrible to fit hubby and I and three dogs up on the couch, was not comfortable.
5. Mine actually sleeps on his at night. It's next to our human bed. He doesn't sleep on the one downstairs though......he just wants on the couch. I didn't buy an expensive bed....mine was under $20.
6. I have fairly expensive dog beds for my dogs. They love them. They hold up and are washable. I tell my dogs to get in their beds, they do. It's my choice.
7. I buy beds for my pets (not too expensive) because the durable ones that last are a little more expensive. Although sometimes I question whether it is necessary because half the time my cats sleep on the rug or the couch.
8. We bought our Great Dane a pet bed because we wanted to wean him off from our bed and onto his own as he matured. Plus its more comfortable for him and gives him his "own" space.
9. pets are all some people have and we love them like children so we care for them like children
