Anyone who is good with antique furniture (desks)? My boyfriend had gotten me this desk that looks antique. It has the leather top with the thin peg legs, and is solid wood. He had gotten it from his dad who had bought out an expired storage unit. On the bottom it says "Thomasville Furniture Industries Inc. 1965" My mother told me that Thomasville is expensive furniture. Is a lot of Thomasville's Furnture made in China? During a big furniture move in our house about a week ago I discovered our huge, very expensive and beautiful piece of Thomasville we bought 2 years ago, is made in China. The Sales woman stood right there and said all Thomasville is made in North Carolina. For as much as it cost us, who were my wife and I to doubt her word and I think she beleaved herself. However, I will wager the owner of the store, who was standing right there knew better. I am so upset by this. Yes its big, heavy and beautiful but it is made in China. What a huge let down. So to make sure this is a question and not a warning to other furniture buyers, why would they do this? Why can there not be at least some sort of company out there that still has pride in what they sell and not make the bottom line more important? I have a FULL headboard. Is there any way to be able to use it as a twin? I am expecting in Septemeber and I am having to change out furniture with my toddler. She already has a bedroom set and the crib converts to a full. I am going to let the new baby have her furniture, and let M have my old set. It is a Thomasville set that has a FULL headboard.
